 The international architectural competition “Reinterpreting Tradition: Contemporary Insights Towards Buttoned Houses’ Technique,” is organized in collaboration with the INTBAU Grassroots program, Antalya Bilim University, and the Mediterranean Freelance Architects Association.
The competition aims to integrate the cultural heritage of Antalya’s traditional construction technique, Buttoned Houses (Düğmeli Evler), with contemporary architectural practices.

2025 MUSE Hotel Awards

The MUSE Hotel Awards does not stop at only recognizing the best hotels in the world. It rewards and celebrates all categories that create the ultimate global hospitality and guest experience – including Hotel and Hospitality Design.

Eligibility:

The MUSE Hotel Awards is open to hoteliers, hotel developers and builders, interior designers, architects, public relations firms, advertising agencies, travel agencies, and professionals directly or indirectly related to the hospitality industry.

 
Submission Requirement:

Entry Brief:
It is recommended that you keep your synopsis to approximately 350 words. The brief should strengthen your entry, as well as providing the jury a better understanding of your project. A written translation or adaptation must accompany non-English entries.

 Image Submission:
The submissions should be saved in a flattened JPEG or JPG format. (keep them under 4MB, 1,200px wide is preferable, 300dpi, RGB).

 Video / Audio Submission:
Entries with audio/video must be submitted with a direct URL that will take judges directly to the work:
Upload video/audio to Vimeo/YouTube/Youku.
Paste the URL link into the URL field.

There are FOUR (4) levels of achievement in the competition:

Judging:

Judging is blind. All entrant information is removed from entries to prevent bias/conflict of interest.

 To uphold the prestige and reputation of the MUSE Hotel Awards, a large part of the competition is highly dependent on the careful selection of judges of high calibre that convene each year to review submissions. This collective panel of juries assembled by International Awards Associate Inc (IAA) is primarily composed of industry experts and veterans with years of experience in the hospitality and tourism industry. This esteemed group of jurors represent the breadth of the profession, including private, public, institutional, and academic practice. They embody diversity in professional experience, geography, gender and ethnicity.

The MUSE Hotel Awards and International Awards Associate Inc’s decision and ranking is final in its sole discretion and binding relation to all matters relating to competitions and may not be subject to any discussions or correspondence.

 

Results Announcement:

All winners for 2025 will be announced on April 10, 2025 via MUSE Hotel Awards official page. All registered participants can then login to see the winning works.

 
Prizes:

 Category Winners of the Year will receive a Limited Edition MUSE Statuette to be displayed at your establishment as a quality of excellence.

Category Winners of the Year – Winner’s Banner to be featured on category page and link to website for 30 days for maximum exposure.

The subject of the competition is the design of an architectural solution for a football stadium for FC Baník Ostrava, a.s., which will meet UEFA criteria for the highest category of stadium enabling the organisation of international matches in all categories of football. The new stadium, with significant, larger-than-regional importance, aims to bring the game closer to the fans and create the best possible spectator experience. 

The contracting authority expects the project to result in a structure that meets contemporary environmental, operational, and accessibility standards, integrating seamlessly into the surrounding urban environment. 

The new stadium is expected to be certified according to the BREEAM standard and will showcase the latest advancements and technologies in sustainability and energy efficiency. Its operational design and facilities will allow everyone, regardless of age or disability, to fully experience football, while also striving for unrestricted movement throughout the stadium. 

Additionally, outside of matchdays, the stadium will become a part of city life through supplementary activities such as the football club museum, a variety of services, and the hosting of tours.

Prize: Winners in the built-project categories will receive cash prizes up to $5,000 plus a CEU-accredited trip to Bologna, Italy to attend Cersaie 2025: the world’s largest exhibition of ceramic tile and bathroom furnishings, alongside a delegation of top design media.

All category winners will also receive a trip to Coverings 2025 in Orlando, FL  – the largest international tile and stone exhibition in North America – from April 29 – May 2, where they will attend a dedicated awards ceremony and present their projects in front of a large audience of design and trade media, manufacturers, and tile industry professionals.

2024/25 Students Reinventing Cities

Students Reinventing Cities is C40 Cities‘ global competition seeking innovative, tangible designs that help build a green and just urban future. The fourth Students Reinventing Cities competition launched in October 2024 and will run until July 2025. 

The competition creates a space to:

  • drive collaboration between youth and city governments to accelerate low-carbon urban redevelopment.

  • support the development of globally replicable and innovative urban design solutions.

  • strengthen knowledge and understanding of leading climate policies, solutions and technologies. 

HOW IT WORKS

  • Participating world-leading citiesselect urban areas urgently seeking redevelopment. These sites are open to students and young people across the world to redevelop, presenting creative and innovative solutions that address city climate targets, resident priorities and local challenges.

  • Interested participants select a site/city to develop a proposal for. Participants then form teams and develop a comprehensive action plan for the site.

  • Projects should seek to transform urban areas into green and thriving neighbourhoods, integrating the “15-Minute City” model & proximity approach for low-carbon urbanisation.

PARTICIPATION ELIGIBILITY 

  • Current university students of any age, any degree level, and any discipline can participate, provided they are enrolled in the 2024-2025 (or 2025) academic year.

  • Any young person who is not a current student can also participate, provided they are aged 18-28.

  • Teams must comprise at least one current university student. “University(ies)” refers to research institutions, schools, colleges and the entire academic community in higher education, above the high school level.

  • Teams must be composed of at least two people. There is no limit to the maximum number of people that can be in a team.

  • The competition encourages participants to develop mixed-discipline teams, drawing on knowledge from a wide range of studies. Teams may include participants from multiple departments such as architecture, urbanism, environment, engineering, real estate development, sociology, economy, and the arts, among other fields.

  •  Any eligible participant is welcome to apply, regardless of their city of residence. Participants do not need to be from or reside in, the city they have chosen for the competition.

TIMELINE

  • 20 March 2025* | Deadline to register your team*

  • 29 May 2025*| Deadline to submit your project* 

  • June 2025 | Juries comprised of C40 and city experts will assess all projects

PARTICIPATING CITIES & SITES TO CHOOSE FROM 

  • The fourth Students Reinventing Cities competition has launched in 11 cities worldwide –  Amman, Barcelona, Freetown, Istanbul, Jakarta, Johannesburg, Lisbon, Milan-Segrate, Quito, Rome and Tshwane. Please consult the Sites in Competitionfor information about the selected sites and development expectations. 
  • For each city in competition, a Site Form is provided. The city prepares this document to present the site and detail the objectives of the project. The Site Form may provide further information regarding submission requirements such as language requirements as well as potential additional awards given by the city.
  •  An online folder (“Dataroom”) will also be available containing more relevant documentation [maps, images, regulations] related to the site. 

SCORING CRITERIA
For each site, all submitted projects will be judged based on the following criteria:

  • Quality of the team and their approach to developing the project.
  • Quality of design and relevance of the project 
  • Proposed solutions aligned with the Green & Thriving Neighbourhoods Guidance
  • Feasibility of the project.

For each site, the final projects are evaluated (anonymously) by a jury composed of representatives from the city, C40 and external experts. The composition of the juries will be made public. 

One winner will be chosen per city/site; some projects may be awarded a special mention. Please refer to the Competition Regulations for a more detailed breakdown of the scoring criteria.

WINNING PRIZES 

For each city/site, the winning team will receive:

  • An official Certificate signed by the Mayor of the city and the Executive Director of C40.
  • Coverage in local and global communication campaigns (social media, press releases, Reinventing Cities website).
  • Additional awards may be given at each city’s discretion. Further information regarding additional awards can be found within the city-specific Site Form.
