Europan is a thematic competition of ideas / projects of architecture, urbanism and landscape, followed by implementation processes. It is a tool for European cities and urban actors to find and develop innovative strategies for their sites in transformation.
Europan is a platform for young professionals of urban, landscape and architectural design under 40.
The Leicester B. Holland Prize is an annual competition that recognizes the best single-sheet measured drawing of a historic building, structure or site prepared to the standards of the National Park Service’s Heritage Documentation Programs (HDP). The sheet may be prepared for the Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS), Historic American Engineering Record (HAER), or Historic American Landscapes Survey (HALS). The prize is supported by the Paul Rudolph Trust, the American Institute of Architects, and the Library of Congress’s Center for Architecture, Design, and Engineering. The prize honors Leicester B. Holland (1882-1952), FAIA, chairman of the AIA’s Committee on Historic Buildings, head of the Fine Arts Division of the Library of Congress, first curator of the HABS collection, co-founder of the HABS program in the 1930s, and the first chair of the HABS Advisory Board.
By requiring only a single sheet, the competition challenges the delineator to capture the essence of the site through the presentation of key features that reflect its historic and its architectural, landscape architectural or engineering significance. The Holland Prize competition is open to all those interested, regardless of experience or professional background.
The winner will receive a $1,500 cash prize and a certificate of recognition. Preservation Architect, the online newsletter of the American Institute of Architects’ Historic Resources Committee, will publish the winning drawing. Merit awards may also be given.

The Seattle Design Festival (SDF) is excited to announce our Call for Proposals for the 2025 Festival! As we celebrate the 15th anniversary of SDF, we invite designers, artists, community organizations, and creative thinkers to explore our theme: FEEDBACK.
About the Theme
FEEDBACK fuels transformation, growth, and positive change. It’s the spark that ignites new ideas, strengthens connections, and helps us build a better future. At its best, FEEDBACK is an invitation—one that encourages curiosity, creativity, and collaboration across different perspectives.
This year, we ask:
– What happens when we treat FEEDBACK as a tool for discovery instead of just critique?
– What becomes possible when we engage in FEEDBACK with hope and humility?
– How can design create spaces for meaningful dialogue, reflection, and renewal?
Ways to Participate
We are soliciting proposals for three Festival elements at the SDF Block Party (August 16 & 17):
Mainstage Program
– Format: In-person or virtual talks, performances, skill shares, or films
– Duration: 15-30 min (plus 30-minute max setup)
Pop-Up Experience
– Format: Hands-on activities, workshops, or design challenges
– Duration: 1-4 hours (plus 30-minute max load-in/out)
Built Installation
– Format: Temporary outdoor structures designed to engage the public
– Duration: Full weekend (18 hours + load-in on August 15 and load-out after 7pm on August 17)
– Commitment Level: Highest

Each year a unique project is created to challenge our student design-build competitors in the DBIA National Design-Build Student Competition. This year’s project will be no different.
This three-phase competition gives teams from colleges and universities the chance to respond to a Request for Qualifications (the first phase) and a Request for Proposals (the second phase). In phase three, the top three teams after the RFP phase will present their proposals to a panel of industry leaders at the 2025 Design-Build Conference & Expo in Las Vegas, NV, this November. The competition is impressive and provides an incredible opportunity for young design-builders.
This year’s competition expands on last year’s challenge, which focused on the initial phase one procurement of a major airport expansion, including a new main terminal and airside expansion with an automated people mover (APM). That project was delivered using a fixed-fee, variable scope design-build approach. The 2025 competition takes the next step, challenging student teams to complete the terminal by adding additional gates and concessions on each side of the new main terminal building using Progressive Design-Build (PDB).
The National Design-Build Student Competition provides young design-builders the opportunity to create a project as a team, present it to some of the industry’s leading pros and earn national recognition for their good work. DBIA’s student competition provides an unparalleled opportunity for students to meet and impress design-build industry leaders one-on-one.

Purpose of the Design Competition
The current Yeosu City Hall was newly built in 1980. After the 1998 administrative consolidation of Yeosu City, Yeocheon City, and Yeocheon County, it was operated using three separate buildings. Due to events such as the 2012 Yeosu Expo, the establishment of an international education institute, increased administrative demands, and organizational expansion, the city has continued relocating offices and leasing buildings. As a result, there are now eight separate administrative office buildings in operation.
The excessive dispersion of government offices has led to decreased inter-departmental coordination, inconsistent space allocation, and difficulties in providing high-quality public services to citizens.
To resolve long-standing complaints regarding administrative inefficiency and poor service, the city aims to construct a rational and future-oriented office building. This new facility will go beyond serving as a simple administrative space and will introduce a variety of functions that allow it to coexist with the citizens.
